Te Matauru Primary has hosted large visitor numbers since our opening in February 2020. Visitors come for a variety of reasons - to view our learning environments, to learn about our leadership and curriculum directions, and to experience the innovation and energy that is present in our growing school community. While we do not profess to have all the answers or a perfect school, we have received very positive feedback from visitors.
We offer two types of visits to other educators:
General Visit (1 hour) - This is an opportunity for you and your team to hear from our school Principal about our school's journey so far and to have a guided tour of the learning environments followed by Q + A.
Bespoke PD - This offering is customised to you and your team's areas of learning and interest. It may be observing particular aspects of classroom or school practice, or to attend professional development presented by our leadership team. Recent presentations to visitors have included: our journey implementing MSL; growing teacher leadership; embedding school vision and values; building design to support learning; revisioning Y7/8 technology; real time reporting; leadership and community engagement. If there is an area you are interested in engaging us to talk to your team about please let us know.
